When to use supplementary reinforcement for anchors?
This article delves into the benefits of using supplementary reinforcement to anchors, particularly using IDEA StatiCa Detail application, and what would happen to the joint connection if in case supplementary reinforcement isn't applied.
Example
Let's have a user case example of steel billet shoe which is typically used in precast facade connected to a concrete beam using 6-M24 cast-in anchor. Due to space constraint, the billet was intentionally designed in such a way that the top anchors will take only tension forces by providing slotted holes. IDEA Statica Connection application has been used to verify this connection. We will use this user case to assess the anchorage in 3D Detail application. To follow along, you may download the model at the end of this article.
